On the road

Even though the highway code is based on international rules, some advice can be very useful to drive in total security. Motorway axes are good, and axed on the Atlantic side. Casablanca, Rabat, Tanger, Meknes, Fes, Settat are all cities linked by motorway. The maximal speed on motorway is 120 km/h (70m/h).

Principal roads are in general good. The maximal speed permitted is 100 km/h (60m/h).

Quality of secondary roads is disparate, and can be sometimes very bad. The maximal speed on that road is 80 km/h (50m/h).

Tracks are many times very bad, it is forbiden to take it whit tourism car. You are proposed 4*4 which can be appropriate for that kind of roads.

Driving in Morocco

Driving in Morocco can be surprising for non-advised drivers. We advice you to slow down when you arrive to cities or villages. There are not many pedestrian passages (and do not exist in villages), and children can cross the road whitout taking cars into account.

Some drivers can have a dangerous behaviour. It concerns especially lorries, bus and big taxis.

Anyway, you alwas have to be careful.
